From time to time, Colin Baenziger & Associates is asked to provide sample Request for Proposals (RFP) that have been used to procure the services of an executive recruiter. We have provided some samples below. We would also note that occasionally governments have contacted us with a simple, verbal request that we provide a proposal and we have done so. In every case, the search has been successful.
Our point is that your government does not need to devote an extensive amount of staff time to developing a complicated RFP. All of the local government recruiting firms have a standard proposal that they modify according to the particular government's request. Most are well designed documents involving a logical process and the document has been developed based on our years of experience doing executive recruiting for high level local government positions. What we suggest is you let us tell you in a logical way how we think the search should be conducted using our standard document. When governments deviate from that approach, what we often find is extra steps are required and the cost to the government increases.
Whatever you decide, we will respond to your request.
