Experience

With over 20 years' experience in both the public and private sectors, Scott is an accomplished leader with expertise in operations analysis and management government stakeholder relationships. He is particularly adept at identifying the best applicants and evaluating their organizational potential. His varied background and his experience in the private sector provide a unique perspective - one different from that of the vast majority of governmental search and operations consultants. He sees the possible and is constantly asking, "Why not the best?" As such, he is an invaluable asset to CB&A and all our clients!

For over a decade, Scott spent time in leadership roles in the grocery industry. There he developed an aptitude for improving department operations, client service, and employee training. One example is his development of an OSHA compliant training program that is currently utilized in all of Associated Food Stores' 450 retail supermarkets in Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Wyoming.

In the public sector, Scott has held judicial and administrative roles in the Second and Third Districts in Utah. As such, he regularly coordinated with judges, court commissioners, staff, and municipal entities. Additionally, he served as a primary contact of queries from the public, attorneys, and the media. During his tenure he worked diligently to improve and streamline court operations by:

• Implementing best practices, particularly with respect to adherence to legal guidelines and court regulations as well as policies and procedures;
• Creation of reporting systems detailing case statistics, progress, and trends;
• Improving personnel selection, retention, and employee growth; and
• All the while, maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism in all court-related matters.

Scott earned his Master of Public Administration degree (emphasis in state and local government) from Southern Utah University, and his Bachelor of Science in Organizational Communication from Weber State University. Scott is also a certified Professional and Technical Writer. He is a member of the Association for Public Policy Analysis & Management, the Society of Human Resource Management, and the American Communication Association. G.
